Burlesque

Im going to start looking at burlesque because of the giant feathers they wear on their heads, much like they do in cabaret.

The feathers are almost like a symbol, once you see them you know exactly what you are watching.
This kind of work really relates to my work with the orbs sprouting from peoples heads, as the feathers just kind of appear from nowhere and come into existence.

Burlesque itself is a very.. sexy/raunchy show, showing women in tight corsets or less, which like my miley cryrus research, really relates to life in worksop, as on a Saturday night you can regularly see women going out in tight corsets or skimpy dresses/tops.

If I was going to take some inspiration from this I would probably mix it with life in worksop as much as I can, and then add the giant plumes coming from their heads as an addition, just because it makes it even funnier to have something sprouting from them. In a way, the feather kind of justifies the women dressing this skimpy, it puts us in the perception that they are going to do a show and everything is ok, where as if you take the feather away you lose all sense of it being enjoyable and the girls turn back into skimpily dressed tarts.
