Plaster casts - V&A

In the casting section of the V&A museum, i found these casts of a face. It didnt say who the face belonged too or when it was taken. I found it very interesting to look at, as it seemed to get a lot of minute details from the face.

The caster also managed to get the face with its eyes open which i found both freakyt and interesting.

the mould it was cast from was equally as interesing as it showed a lot of details from the face. The face looks like it could be from the victorian era, due to the style of hair in the casts. the mould looks like it was done in sections, then all lined up and joint together. I suppose this would be a good way to cast the the face as the castee would be able too breath and see what you were doing.
